The Department of Agroecology at Aarhus University (AU) carries out basic, strategic and applied research related to interactions between climate, soil, plants, animals and people in agro-ecosystems. AU also carry out policy support for the Danish Government on soils and agriculture. The AU team behind this proposal has a special focus on novel sustainable soil management technologies. AU conduct long-term experiments on fertilization, tillage, rotation, organic farming and field traffic. AU has also experience with sustainable soil management from studies at landscape scale and from using farmer’s fields (erosion, loss of nutrients and pesticides).
