Presentation

EV-ILVO performs multidisciplinary, innovative and independent research aimed at economically, ecologically and socially sustainable agriculture and fisheries in a from farm to fork approach. EV-ILVO’s mission consists of performing and coordinating policy-supporting scientific research and associated public service. ILVO has expertise in sustainable soil management practices through long term field experiments (e.g. BOPACT and BIOCHAR field trials), experiments on farmers’ fields (e.g., on erosion, compaction, hedgerows, grass strips and agroforestry) and conducting focus groups and surveys on barriers and drivers for adoption (e.g. EU FP7 Catch-C project in which ILVO was leading an European survey, Agroforestry Flanders project, EU Interreg Fabulous Farmers project). ILVO also recently started a long-term collaboration with an agro-ecological farmer for on-farm research (PHAE).
