Presentation

Agroscope, a Swiss research institution, conducts research into environmentally compatible and economically competitive farming by combining ecology, economics and agricultural engineering. Expertise at Agroscope is in agronomy, agricultural technology and economics, plant breeding and genetics, molecular biology, biodiversity and landscape development, and eco-controlling. Agroscope is involved in both, fundamental science and science for application in the farming context.

The Soil Quality and Soil Use research group studies the influence of natural processes and soil management on soil quality. Furthermore, the group has expertise in site and soil map evaluation. The group combines field experiments, long-term field trials and laboratory studies with theoretical considerations, model simulations and GIS analysis.
